Welcome
The club came into being during the industrial boom of the 50’s when many migrant workers were attracted to Morwell. A great number of these migrants were Italians, and many were men (who had emigrated with the object of saving enough money to bring their families out to Australia). Later when the construction jobs dwindled many decided that the Latrobe Valley was a good place to settle and raise a family.
At that time social integration with mainstream Australians was difficult and language barriers tended to influence these migrants to stay with their fellow Italians. In 1962 a group of local leaders established the Italian club to meet the social and cultural needs of this growing population and to help with their integration into Australian society.

Today (with its new focus of Italian/Australian) the club is all that its founders dreamed it to be, a multi purpose, multi cultural complex catering to the needs of all locals
